This ministry is intended to reach out to expectant parents in our congregation, and parents of infants and toddlers. Along with weddings and funerals, baptisms are one of the most emotionally and spiritually intense experiences in the life of our congregation and its families. Support provided during this time is especially meaningful and helpful. "Nurturing Beginnings" expands on EvUCC's earlier Cradle Roll ministry in providing support to expectant parents and parents of young children who are active members of our church. (Per our baptism policy, non-member parents may only have their child baptized at EvUCC if a member grandparent, aunt or uncle requests it, and will provide spiritual guidance to the family per the promises they make at the time of baptism.) On the occasion of their Baptism, individual banners are made for each child. Nurturing Beginnings is administered by the Church Office Manager, Pastors, Board of Christian Education and Mission Board. |

The Nursery is available continuously from 7:45 to 10:45 a.m. each Sunday. The Nursery provides parents with the option of dropping off their infants and toddlers while they worship or attend classes. It is also a gentle way to welcome infants and toddlers into the caring community of the church. Care is provided by a Nursery Staff and Volunteer Attendants.
Parents should sign-in their children at the door to the Nursery when they leave their children in care. If you are leaving your child in the Nursery for the first time, you will be asked to fill out a family contact form and to describe your child’s particular needs. When you pick up your child, you should sign-out your child. Pagers are available. |
