Wee Care Day Care and Peppermint Preschool |
|
Wee Care Day Care and Peppermint Preschool, both located in our facility, are not-for-profit missions that have served the families in our community faithfully by caring for, loving, and teaching children for many years. With the economy struggling and unemployment numbers at an all-time high, we have seen a drastic decrease in our enrollment numbers over the past year. We have been working tirelessly to advertise our quality programming and encourage our community to capitalize upon our services rooted in nurture, mission, and love. However, we will need to answer a call of faithfulness if we wish to continue to honor our commitment to the 40+ full time and part-time staff and the many families who rely upon our support. We pray that as we offer fundraisers throughout the upcoming year, we can count on the love and support of members of our congregation to recognize the childcare facilities for what they truly are, extensions of Christ's care through not-for-profit missions of Evangelical United Church of Christ that faithfully serve the families, children, and staff members who live to serve in our community. Thank you for believing in our young people. |

The Illinois South Conference of the United Church of Christ has a campground outside DuBois, Illinois. The camp is in a beautifully wooded area alongside a lake. Each summer, DuBois Center offers camps for children ages 5 to 18. Camps for younger children are three days long, older campers stay a week. Depending on which program the campers enroll in, they will be housed in tents or cottages. All campers are allowed to participate in horseback riding, swimming, and boating. For children of EvUCC members a portion of the camp fee for one camp will be paid.
During the school year, DuBois Center offers many different day long and overnight opportunities for people of all ages. A major event of the year is the DuBois Fall Festival held on the first weekend in October each year. The Festival has food booths, a children’s craft area, horseback riding, and dozens of craft exhibitors from around Southern Illinois. For more information, call 618-787-2202. |
